Why Mentorship with YWiB?
Mentorship is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career and to gain insight into the topics and goals that are most important to you and your growth. YWiB’s Mentorship Program is a mentee-driven program that allows the mentee to cater their interactions and growth to their own career goals.
Tailored to the mentees’ careers and interests, our mentorship coordinators strategically select mentors based on the mentees’ needs and goals to help with both professional and personal development. Based on mentee applications, we seek out those in the Calgary business community who align most with the mentees’ career aspirations and will help to inspire and guide them in achieving their goals.

Eligibility Requirements
This program is for anyone who is:
Graduated or in your 3rd/4th year of post secondary education or working in the first 10 years of your career
Looking for professional and personal development guidance from a local mentor
Motivated to learn, grow and commit to a 6-month program
Willingness to support YWIB community as a member
Application & Matching Process
All applications are reviewed, selected mentees will be matched based on mentor suitability and availability
We are committed to finding you the most suitable mentor. In cases where this is not achievable, our Director of Mentorship will work with you to discuss available options.
Program Schedule
Applications open on September 19, 2022. Earlier applications are appreciated to allow for sufficient time for mentor sourcing. Full details will be provided to accepted applicants.
We encourage prospective mentees to apply by October 16, 2022 to be accepted in the current program to ensure a 6-month program.
Our program includes a Launch Party where mentee and mentor pairings initially meet and get to know the group. There will be multiple workshops throughout the program based on needs and availability. A Wrap-Up event will be scheduled at the end of April or early May 2023 to reflect goals achieved, celebrate mentorship/community established and summarize actionable next steps.

Each pair is required to schedule a virtual or in-person coffee chat at least once per month to discuss goals, challenges and/or next steps with regard to personal and professional growth. As each pairing is unique, these discussions will look different for everyone. YWIB mentorship will provide support as needed.

Program Fees
There is no application fee for the program. Mentee applicants will only be charged $50 once successfully paired with a mentor. This fee covers your mentors gift and your ticket to the wrap up event. We also highly encourage our mentees to participate in other YWiB events through the Elevate Mentorship Program.
