Using Weddingful, brides can refine their search based on specific criteria such as price, location, styling, availability and much more. In 2010 alone, Weddingful has received the following recognition: LaunchPartyHQ’s LPV8 People’s Choice Award and Top 3 Businesses of New Venture BC’s Fusion Forum.
Arpen Thandi | The Crave Company | Having discovered a love for marketing & pr early on, Arpen joined the CRAVE Company in 2008 becoming the youngest partner with CRAVE. Arpen works with local businesses to innovatively connect them to consumers through soirees, gatherings and online networking. Arpen will be launching the 3rd edition of the CRAVE Vancouver Guide this November 2010. The guide features more than 150 local woman entrepreneurs in the city. Arpen has been a longtime supporter of YWIB and served as the Public Relations Coordinator for beyond pink in 2009.
Barbara Ross-Denroche | Refinery Leadership | Barbara Ross-Denroche (MA, CPCC), CEO and Co-Founder of The Refinery Leadership Partners, has been actively engaged in, and responsible for leadership challenges which have shaped best practice people systems within organizations. Prior to The Refinery Barbara held executive positions in Organizational Development and Human Resources where she focused on creating cultures that support high performance and transformational leadership development. Active in the community, Barbara is Past President of B.C. Special Olympics, Past President and Board Member of B.C. Human Resources Association, and currently a Board Member with The Minerva Foundation for B.C. Women.
Briar Johnston | Epic Events | Briar has always had a passion for creating memories through special events. She began her education obtaining her Special Events Certificate from Ryerson. She continued in Vancouver to get her Hospitality Management Diploma and her Bachelor of Commerce. Using the skills she learned, she began gaining experience by volunteering with charity events and designing and managing friends’ weddings. Briar loves being able to be creative and innovative everyday in her job. Seeing someone else’s event vision through to completion is the best part of her day!

As an executive career coach, mediator and former practicing lawyer, Carrie specializes in helping her clients master their personal influencing power and leadership competencies in workplace communication, negotiation, and conflict management.
Eileen Knowles, Mila Lukic and Zaya Kadyrova | Education Generation | Founding members of Education Generation – an online community crowdfunding merit based scholarships for young leaders in the developing world. To date, the community consists of over 500 members and has funded 200 scholarships and raised $50,000 in 7 countries. Zaya, a CA by day, is EdGen’s finance and administration guru, bridging the gap between the business and non-for-profit worlds. Mila, a Management Consultant at Accenture, is the mind behind Scholarship Partnership Programs. Eileen has lived in India, Zambia, Ghana and Costa Rica, worked for a World Bank-led youth initiative, and founded her own registered Canadian charity focused on promoting education in Kenya and Zambia; bringing on ground experience to help shape EdGen’s Fellowship Programme.
Emily Psimoulis | Think Box National | Emily’s entrepreneurial life started at the age of 17, running an online business while studying criminology. At the time, her plan was to become a forensic pathologist, which quickly changed after working at a morgue. Changing directions, she decided to study business at BCIT. In her final year, the business plan she wrote for entrepreneurship received a failing mark. Today, that failing plan is proving to be a success with 6 offices across Canada. In early 2010, she launched Chatterbox Social Media Inc. which works with businesses to manage their Social Media initiatives.
Erin Ireland | itstodie4.com | Erin Ireland is a food reporter for Metro Newspaper, Vancouver View Magazine, and itstodie4.com; the social media strategist at Institute B, and the television host of FMA. She attended university in South Carolina on an NCAA Div 1 volleyball scholarship where she earned her Bachelor of Communications. With dreams of anchoring for ESPN, Erin returned to Vancouver to realize her true passions…food and social media. She covers top foodie events, and her online following is nine thousand, with a Klout score of 44. Erin’s other interests include traveling to Italy, early mornings, and baking. Heather Ross | [in house] | Artist & designer Heather Ross is the proprietor of Heather Ross [in house] an eclectic gallery/boutique in Vancouver. She first started out in her early 20′s with a line of hand-printed textiles which sold across Canada. Next, after two inspiring years in Paris, she brought together her talents to work as a freelance photographer, stylist, & writer for magazines such as Canadian House Home & Western Living. In 2001 she opened her atmospheric boutique to showcase her evocative paintings & photos amongst the unique finds she gathers along her travels.
Jenny Randhawa and Karen Manhas | Blo Blow Dry Bar | Jenny and Karen have been with Blo since day one (2007) savouring the successes and learning and perfecting the ropes. The two have quickly gone from strength to strength since opening up Morgan Crossing’s first Blo Blow Dry Bar in April 2010. The success of their bar paved the way for Morgan Crossing to becoming the next chic and trendy neighborhood in the Lower Mainland. When opportunity arose to acquire all of Vancouver’s Blo bars, they struck while the (curling) iron was hot! Kevin Pearce | Landsea Tours & Stuff the Bus | Kevin, President of Landsea Tours, came up with the concept of Stuff the Bus on the way to work one day. The idea is to ‘stuff a bus’ with donations for Vancouver’s Homeless Transitional Shelters. he week long charity event features door to door pick ups, visiting of local tourist attractions and the more recent addition of live musical events including 2 Live on Capilano University Campus Days and a Stuff the Bus Concert. “It is quite overwhelming to see the end result first hand at the shelters. At first the goal was to fill 1 bus, but we have filled 11 buses in only 3 years. When this town wants to make a difference and have fun doing it, they come to Stuff the Bus!”
Kerri Carlson | every WOMANTM Events | An active-living enthusiast, mother of three and former high-performance athlete, Kerri Carlson founded every WOMANTM Events in 2004 to inspire through physical activity. Carlson began gymnastics at age six and competed internationally for Canada for four years. She was also a member of Canada’s 1989 World Gymnastics Championship 6th place team. After graduating from Stanford University on a full athletic scholarship, Carlson had a few pounds to shed and a heavy body image weight to lift. After hiking most of the mountain peaks in the Lower Mainland, a yoga retreat in Costa Rica, a marathon in Hawaii and a Mother-Sister Active Getaway…..every WOMAN was born.

Shanda Jerrett | Gumdrops Wet Weather Boutique | After arriving from Australia, Shanda realized that it constantly rains in Vancouver. Puddle jumping far outweighed the practicality of having appropriate rain gear. But soon the novelty lost its charm, and she began to dread the long rainy days. Determined to not let this get to her, Shanda purchased a pair of colorful gumboots. They were comfortable, practical, and they made her feel youthful again. Puddle jumping made its come back and initiated GumDrops, a playful, practical and professional wet weather boutique allowing Vancouverites to get wet in style!
Sophie Alden | lisbeth jewelry | With an infinite love and intense passion for all things fashion and design, Alden began her creative journey in retail, where — as a hobby — she began making pieces that reflected her own personal style dichotomy: classic and feminine, with a little experimental rock n’ roll thrown in for good measure. Wearing her own creations in the shop where she worked, customers quickly began to take note, and in 2006, lisbeth jewelry was born.
Tiffany Barkman | Zing Design | Tiffany’s passion for design and interest in business drove her to take the entrepreneurial leap in 2004, after years of dreaming. She found just the right space and opened the fresh and airy retail boutique, Zing Paperie & Design, to sell her stationery designs along with other beautiful finds. Vicky Liu | Vckystxx | Vicky puttered her way to a small design business, armed with nothing but a mighty pen and an imaginary (but huge) sword. VCKYSTXX.com launched in September 2009! It is predominantly a serial web-comic, home to the three-haired, genderless stick-person duo known as The Stxx. VCKYSTXX Designs have since graced the likes of greeting cards, wedding invitations, and public washroom stalls. The Stxx made me draw them pink teeshirts, and they look forward to being your favourite Imaginary Friend.
