History of YWiB The story of YWiB begins in 2007, when a group of young women in their senior years of university began asking themselves a few important questions. They wondered why thus far in their university careers they had not been exposed to the type of support that addressed the needs and interests of young women launching their careers. They had never felt disadvantaged, but knew that there were some unique |
differences in carving a woman’s career path that differed from their male peers. An idea began to develop and very quickly grew in to the vision of a network and conference for young women in business.

Beyond Pink 2008
Claire Frazer and Norma-Jean Thompson led a team of over 20 ladies that, together with 3 other directors, launched YWiB’s inaugural conference – Beyond Pink 2008. This conference has remained a staple of YWiB and will continue to be the premier annual event, with a new theme each year. Beyond Pink was a high-impact conference that brought together 200 energetic young women to partake in interactive workshops, engage with established leaders and experts through its speaker series, participate in unique networking events and celebrate the achievements of aspiring and accomplished women in business.
